Thanks for this great piece. Last Monday at my County's day long Technology Workshop. I had the opportuniuty to do a presentations on developing your own PLN. (All of which I learned from you, S. Anderson and the other great educators on edchat and edtech..) When I began to talk about Twitter as a powerful source for professional development the eyes of most of the crowd rolled up to the sky. I laughed and asked how many have actually use Twitter, No one had used it before. I had a great opportunity to share how teachers use twitter for personal development by sharing my Tweetdeck page. Showing them the difference from everyday twittering and what we do in #edchat, and #edtech was powerful for them to see.. They saw focused teacher working to help each other through links and blogs for personal and profession development from all over the world. Thanks for your hard work in helping real PD to occur for those who really want it.
